Expressional dance

Table of rules in numbers - TORIN

Style description: emotions are key aspects of expressional dance as they are transformed into the motion

Improvisation of scenic dance: performing dance on the spot without having a prepared choreography. Dancer should use own creativity and imagination while performing and use the moves which he or she considers as suitable to the music. Scenic dance can be performed in groups. Various effects done in lines help to express the emotions and feelings so the audience can be absorbed in the performance itself. Acting and dancing aspects are equally important while performing scenic dance, the actor does not talk but dances.  Modern types of dances use ground movements. These movements must be expressional while doing them standing and one must be very flexible to be able to do them. A scenic dancer usually dances bare feet. Their gestures are similar to the ones of ballet. Choreographer is the key person for the scenic dance. He or she is like a composer composing music or a painter painting his or her masterpiece. The only difference among them is that choreographer works with living human beings.
