Description of style: the discipline is more relaxed than standard dance in posture, clothing or in motion. Latin dance is characterized by a precision, temperament, passion and sensuality. There are several types of Latin-American dances, e.g. samba, cha-cha, rumba, paso doble or jive. Polka is a part of this disciple in children category in the Czech Republic’s competitions even though it is not a typical Latin dance.
Brazilian samba has roots in Africa, Rumba as well as the youngest competitive dance cha-cha come from Brazil. Rumba’s origin is not super clear, however, the current Cuban form was given to rumba after standardizing of competition in Europe. Paso doble as the only Latin dance is not from America but from Spain. It was inspired by the traditional bullfights. North-American Jive was influenced by swing, boogie-woogie and rock and roll. Thanks to this fact, Jive is extremely tiring.
